Comments

The winds continued all through the afternoon yesterday and into the evening. The time was spent resting up and for the ships crew catching up on end of month jobs.

This morning we returned to Kista Strait and the entrance to the harbour. A band of sea ice still blocked access. Although it was possible to break through it, it would soon close up again. Without dilly dallying we put the Aurora II on the water. The morning was then spent strategically cutting the ice with the two boats and watching the bits blow away to the north.

The harbour is now ice free and cargo operations are underway.

Cheers

Andy and Misty
