This morning the first significant iceberg for the voyage was sighted.
A very brief Iceberg Sweep was held. After a conspiracy revelation resulted in two disqualifications, the actual winner was finally announced.
The airbox ozone pump has been disassembled then reassembled. It ran for a bit then stopped. A back up pump was installed which ran for a bit then stopped. A back up, back up pump has been put in place. More progress to follow.
Last night via the cinema we travelled to Indonesia to observe the stunning marine life and witness the making of a world record breaking group scuba dive event.
Today was our first fire drill muster in our Antarctic kit. As we waited on the helideck the crew performed a BA search for a pretend missing person. Our doc and her team of lay surgical assistants were required to prepare the surgery and receive the pretend casualty. Much fun ensued getting the stretcher and all the assistants successfully up the stairwell.
The Southern Ocean Continuous Plankton Recorder had a filter change this morning and was placed back in the water for the fifth leg.
Clocks were retarded another hour last night. Planning meetings continued today and the resupply rosters have been drafted. Operational Plan for Davis Visit 1 has been tweaked to perfection.
