Comments

Yesterday afternoon a milestone in the voyage was reached with the discharge of all south bound cargo to station.

This morning, watercraft operators supported by station personnel dismantled the ice lines that had worked so effectively in keeping clear the wharf approaches. Not an easy undertaking, hauling those ropes out of the near freezing waters of the harbour to stow them carefully for next year's team.

Passenger transfers continued steadily during the day with the boaties transferring project staff, crew and day tripping expeditioners in addition to station personnel aboard for day two of ship tours. Capably managed by a combined team of bunker door volunteers, watercraft operators, wharf rostered personnel and taxi drivers, this team also brought to the ship our nine most recent embarkees who will return with us to Hobart. Meanwhile, the loading of RTA ('Return To Australia') on board the ship from station remains our last outstanding item of business at Casey.
