This morning resupply operations between the Aurora Australis and Casey station commenced at 0800hs with the discharge of a rigid inflatable boat and the Peter Gormley (the AAD's barge which is the workhorse of the Casey over water resupply operation). Beneath an overcast sky and occasional snow showers, a steady stream of passengers and cargo have been ferried across to station by a skilled team of watercraft operators before being conveyed to station by the Casey expeditioners. As we near the end of the day's operations we can look back at what has been so far a very smooth, safe and productive start to the Casey resupply, despite the variable weather conditions encountered. This is thanks to the efforts of the Casey station team, our ship's crew and those expeditioners on board involved in the operation. Special mention to a team of volunteers manning the bunker door, who have overseen the transfer of expeditioners to and from the ship. Under the guidance of our voyage management trainee Noel, a team of scientists, composers and comms techs have proven themselves very adept at what at times can be a tricky task.

Having farewelled to Casey a dozen or so expeditioners who travelled with us from Hobart, we wish them all the best with their projects and look forward to welcoming those now embarking from station.

Regards

Voyage Management.
