A quiet but very productive Sunday spent on the Southern Ocean.

Last night in the D-Deck Theatre as the seas outside grew a little calmer, expeditioners journeyed to both polar regions aboard a series of commercial expeditions involving our very own Mick D, before finding themselves on the gritty streets of Juarez, Mexico in the action-drama 'Sicario'.

This morning, the retrieval of the second Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) tow and deployment of the third was successfully conducted by the ship's crew and volunteers.

This afternoon, our team of watercraft operators attended the first of a number of planning sessions relating to their critical role in the station resupply operations. Meanwhile a schedule for briefings to expeditioners on board has been finalised for the coming week. This will include instruction to various workgroups on topics ranging from the use of GPS systems and radios through to travelling on sea ice and the implementation of both cargo and refuelling operations once on shore. Quite a bit to keep us engaged in the coming days as we make our way towards Casey.

Tonight, before the scheduled film screening we are looking forward to a presentation by one of our number on the construction and operation of submersible unmanned vehicles.

Regards,

Voyage Management.
