Despite a small turnout at breakfast this morning, these is reason to believe that most people survived "Monster Clocks" yesterday (at least physically) and we are now on Hobart time. This is a tangible reminder that soon enough we are going to have to adapt to the real world and for many on board, this adaptation requires that we lower our food intake to meet normal community standards.
There are varying approaches to this problem. Some stout hearted souls favour the cold turkey approach while others are gradually moderating by having just one scoop of ice cream with pudding. The less strong willed are adopting an even more nuanced strategy by only having the pavlova if it's got fruit on it.
Despite our differences there is little doubt that we have all grown immeasurably during this voyage.
Somewhere between noon and 4pm yesterday, we clocked up five thousand nautical miles with more than a thousand left to go.
