Yesterday we completed the krill fishing program. We didn't see any targets all day but decided to do some speculative trawls in the last few hours to see what we might find both at depth and on the surface. The trawl to 175 metres yielded nothing but jellyfish. The surface trawl yielded a small quantity of juvenile krill. That being done, we pulled up the net and set course for Hobart at 8:00pm at which time we had just over 2000 miles to run before reaching home.
This morning finds us north of our old friend the 60th parallel for the first time in what seems like quite a while. It's entirely relative of course; for some of us on board "a while" means just a few weeks while for the returning winterers it's more like a year.
