Yesterday was a big day with fuel transfers finished in the afternoon for a total of 742 800 litres pumped to station. The pack up of the fuel hose continues this morning and at the moment we can see the refuelling team trying to retrieve the hose on the ice in the front of the ship. It doesn't look like the easiest of jobs; a bit like trying to get two kilometres of dental floss back into its container but they will get there.
Cargo unloading has resumed at full pace and although we are well ahead of schedule we still have a ship to empty and then fill back up again. Poor old Aurora is highly confused after offloading close to 900 tonnes of liquid cargo and has been riding at odd angles with a bit of re-ballasting required to keep her sitting straight in the ice.
All operations will pause at 11:00 for Remembrance Day.
