A busy night last night for a select few working late to complete the ships acoustic calibrations, those staff involved then enjoy a well-earned lie in this morning before joining the rest at lunch today. This morning we dropped off our two specialist acousticians ashore at Kingston and then proceeded from white rock at the mouth of the Derwent River out past the continental shelf roughly due East of Tasman Island – during the morning everyone was busy completing last minute checks on the CTD and RMT. So far today we have test the aft CTD winch along with the rosette to approximately 700 metres twice this afternoon. We plan on testing the RMT after dinner this evening. Everyone is looking forward to a hard earned dinner this evening.
