Comments

As hoped, the weather has allowed us to conduct a very productive day of cargo operations. The wharf approaches, now clear of fast ice have seen a steady flow of cargo containers, discharged by the ship's crew, carried by a barge crewed by our watercraft operators and offloaded to station where they are then transported by truck to various locations on station for unpacking.

Meanwhile, our refuelling team have transferred additional equipment ashore in anticipation of commencing refuel operations once a weather window is available.

Calm waters and a lightly overcast sky above us give only subtle indications of a change expected later this evening, when winds are forecasted to rise sharply. This will most likely require the ship to station itself overnight outside the harbour before returning tomorrow once conditions allow us to resume resupply. The nature of doing business in this part of the world.. we're grateful to our colleagues at the Bureau of Meteorology for providing their forecasting services with such reliability.

As always we shall see what tomorrow brings us.

With kind regards.
