Last night a presentation was made to the verified winner of the 'Iceberg Sweep' who, after momentarily indulging the impulse to lord his win over his nearest competition, graciously and unhesitatingly donated all proceeds to 'Camp Quality'.
This morning we crossed 60O latitude, an auspicious occasion for many amongst us who have never journeyed this far South, or at least not by sea. The moment was quietly observed by a gathered few on the bridge with a ceremony scheduled for once we've entered the ice.
Drawing ever closer to Casey upon a dark grey sea through intermittent snow showers, the pace of briefings and preparations increases. Today we conducted an environmental briefing for expeditioners whilst members of the water-craft team organised a cleaning station for expeditioner clothing and equipment.
Another film and presentation planned for this evening.
Kind regards,
James and Dave
