Our first (visible) iceberg yesterday, at 1520 ship time drew quite a crowd on the bridge. Also, tick off "first snow petrel". Lots of chipper people up and about today after a very decent night's sleep last night. A quick Saturday morning muster, in the port side mess today as the helideck was closed due to snow and ice. We observed a minutes silence for Remembrance Day, with some moving words and the poem "In Flanders Fields" (by Lt.Col. John McCrae) read by our ingoing Davis Station Leader Robb. Later this afternoon, we are expecting a visit from King Neptune and his royal entourage, which I'm sure will be a sombre affair. Not. Also today, a BBQ on the trawl deck, by which time we anticipate being well and truly into the seaice zone.
Regards, Doug & Andrew
