Comments

We'll soon be out of the Roaring Forties and in to the Furious Fifties (but quietly hoping they won't live up to their name!). The sleepy Saturday lie-in was scuttled by an emergency muster drill, sprung on us at the unexpected time of 0900, which upset the routine of those of us used to the traditional 1030 muster on a Saturday (usually all dressed and ready to go BEFORE the alarm bells have sounded, and waiting on the helideck for the roll call). It was a good reminder to be ready to go anytime. It's easy to become complacent on the good ship Aurora as we head south, but being forced to scramble for gear and make it to the muster point with less preparation that we are usually accustomed to focussed our attention.
A pause in field training today has yielded to Environmental briefings.
All well, and enjoying the much smoother ride...
Regards, Doug and Andrew
