Last SITREP today, we are due in at 0800 tomorrow morning. The weather is very pleasant cruising though smooth seas with a long low westerly swell. The Albatross are still with us but we will lose them soon as we close on the SE coast. We are expectantly peering north and sniffing the air – once in range you can usually smell the land – a eucalyptus fragrance, although I recall smelling peat off the SW coast.
And so it remains to thanks all involved for a very successful and enjoyable voyage. In Particular AAD Shipping, Macquarie Island, fellow voyagers, and the Master and crew of L'Astrolabe.
Cheers, Don and Helen
