So, we are at Macquarie Island after a very smooth transit and operations have commenced. The weather is perfect apart from high overcast. We were welcomed by 3 Orcas cruising past North Head and some King Penguins swimming by! The Orcas are on the lookout for tasty young weaner elephant seals at this time of year so are a regular sight around the island. The ships Larc is now in the water and 1st passengers ready to go. We hope to continue cargo until 2000 tonight to make the most of the conditions. Our shipboard continent will reduce by 27 tonight, so will be a quiet ship.
Cheers Don and Helen
