The only real evidence we are heading south is the extending daylight, the pre-dawn glow started around 0330 this morning. Other than that the sea has been very calm with so little wind that yesterday's Albatross have gone elsewhere to chase the winds, and folk are sunning themselves on deck.
Progress continues well and we anticipate being at Macca Friday after lunch where we hope to disembark our southbound and round trip passengers and commence cargo. The weather is forecast to turn NE to SE and deteriorate so we will see what progress we make as operations may be interrupted over the weekend.
It has been a busy day on board with briefings for watercraft operators, cargo team, emergency response team and all expeditioners. Stan the ships master gave a talk on L'Astrolabe with some great time-lapse footage of the ship breaking ice.
All well here !
Cheers Don and Helen
