We said farewell to Macca and the winter team yesterday afternoon as the ships horn sounded and a pod of killer whales escorted us out of the bay and away to the North. We had a good night steaming northwards and the sunrise this morning was beautiful behind some alto cumulus cloud. We have 91 expeditioners on board who are getting some well-earned rest, cleaning equipment before bringing it back into mainland Tasmania and writing reports and debriefing the operations of the last 10 days. The weather is building from the North now. Spray is hitting the bridge windows and the ship is regularly shuddering as it punches into the rising sea.
Cheers,
Robb, Nicki, Aaron and Eliza.
