We had a great final run yesterday evening to Macca and turned the corner to get behind the lee of the island before the weather blew up too nastily. This morning we awoke to beautiful scenery with the island in front of us and amazing scenes of gusting willy willy's across the water as the wind blew at 50-60kts and the waterfalls ashore appeared to flow upwards! This meant no chance of operations for us so we have waited patiently, like a coiled spring, for conditions to ease. This afternoon we got our break and have now bladed up and flown of our two helicopters and as I write we are commencing cargo and passenger transfer operations. Across the isthmus the sea is pounding in from the West so it's quite nice to be on this side!
