Comments

We are now less than 48 hours from Hobart. Today is collection day of our issued Antarctic clothing kit. There are certain items such as baffin boots (big chunky warm boots), outer gortex shells (pants & jacket), down jackets, polar fleece pants and jackets, certain types of gloves etc that are returned to the AAD, laundered and reissued. I along with a number of others have taken the opportunity to pack most of my other gear ready for Saturday.

I was lucky enough to have a visitor to my cabin a short while ago who offered to take my bags down the 3 flights of stairs to deliver them to the DVL (Deputy Voyage Leader) whilst I am completing my sitrep. It was very kind of her so she will now be rewarded with a cup of chai tea, dark chocolate and raspberry liquorice.

Cheers
Leanne, Simon and Amy
