Comments

Not too long after I sent yesterday's sitrep the ship's crew completed securing the cargo on the vessel, the horn was sounded and we slowly sailed away from Davis. We now have a ship full of Mawson and Davis expeditioners along with our roundtrippers. There are 105 expeditioners and 24 crew with only a handful of spare beds.

It was pretty quiet on the bridge early this morning until we found sea ice this morning. Sea ice also brings penguins and seals for our viewing pleasure. We have some 'first timers' who were starting to wonder if sea ice existed. They have had many experiences during this voyage but not seeing sea ice and now that box can be ticked.

Cheers

Leanne, Simon and Amy
