We have made it to Mawson. We were spotted from station and they appear to be happy to see us again. The Station Leader did offer to put the kettle on but unfortunately I will be unable to take up the offer of a cuppa. The ship is sitting in Kista Strait just near the entrance to Horseshoe Harbour waiting for the wind to abate to transfer our priority cargo ashore. All personnel involved in the transfer are prepped and ready to go when it is safe to do so.
Our transit back to Mawson has been reasonably comfortable. It came up a little 'rolly' yesterday but nothing that us 'hardened seafarers' cannot handle. Having said that I did forget to mention our VMT (Voyage Management Trainee) coming up to the bridge for our daily 7am meeting yesterday and say 'it is wobblier up here'. Meaning; that the higher in the ship you go the more movement there is. Going up three flights to the bridge and the bridge being more forward than central to the ship can make quite a difference in movement.
In the meantime the Voyage Management Team and Davis have been working on plans for our return to Davis.
Cheers
