You never know what may happen during a voyage. There is some priority cargo that is needed at Mawson and yesterday the opportunity for us to take it to them opened up. The cargo needed to first get to Davis by fixed wing aircraft which happened yesterday. We had been working up a number of scenarios of how to get the cargo to Mawson and after looking at all information available to us the best was us to transport the cargo to Mawson.

We extended our cargo operations by two hours which enable us to complete cargo loading to the ship, load the barge, tie everything down and head for Mawson around 8pm last night.

When I look out of my window now I am looking at all of those glorious icebergs that we travelled through on Monday. It is a privilege to see them again – oh yeah and we get to sail through them again on our way back to Davis in a few days.

Cheers
Leanne, Simon and Amy
