Comments

A band of pack ice has forced us further north than expected. So far north in fact that it made sense to cruise another 90nm and work our way back down the SR03 transect back into the Mertz area. This also has the advantage of ticking one of the higher priority tasks in good weather rather than waiting till we head home and possibly poor weather.

As we work our way south down the transact we stop to perform CTD's and between the CTD's we are still searching for the elusive egg bearing krill, critical to another team of scientists onboard. Fingers crossed!

Cheers

Andy and Mike
