Comments

Refuel briefings for the transfer of one million litres of Special Antarctic Blend diesel fuel using a 1.5km floating hose were held today.

Training for expeditioners who will be taking snow, ice and water samples from ice floes near the ship included use of survival equipment, stoves and tents. All made more realistic by genuine snow showers.

The krill monitoring team have spotted a few krill blobs on the echo sounders but not the right sort of krill at the right depth to fish for yet.

One of the Aurora Australis cadets saw snow falling for the first time in his life!

Cheers Andy and Mike
