Last night we started pumping fuel to shore and as of 9am (UTC+7) this morning, we have pumped over 350 000 litres out of an expected total of 800 000. We expect this to take roughly 36 hours and throughout this period we will have teams of fuel line monitors walking the line accompanied by teams of advisory Adelie penguins. Yesterday, as part of the refuelling preparations, we built the largest snow anchor yet seen in these parts to provide some extra security for the Aurora Australis during the pumping operation; or was it just Trevor and Ross having fun in the snow groomer? The truth is sometimes hard to come by. Either way, we are more firmly secured to the ice than ever before.

Cargo discharge is continuing this morning with the hatch lids almost exposed. Then we can get into the holds where a certain lady is waiting to make her much anticipated stage debut.

Cheers from the Riviera.
