Today we are having a delayed start to cargo operations because we've had some very big days and a sleep in is deserved by all concerned. Very early this morning, fuel pumping was completed with a total of 812 000 litres of life giving fuel delivered to the Davis fuel tanks. Cargo also reached a milestone with the first loads of RTA cargo being accepted into the lower holds last night after dinner.

The wind is up slightly this morning but we hope to resume at 10:30am (UTC+7) with packing up of the fuel hose and continuation of cargo operations. Last night we accepted 5 Mawson winterers to the ship after they flew in on the Basler aircraft and, this morning, we dispatched 10 more expeditioners from the ship to the Davis ski-way to be flown across to Mawson.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Voyage Leader, Chief Mate and Shoreside Resupply Coordinator are devising cunning plans for back loading of RTA cargo to the ship which is one of the larger jigsaw puzzles you are likely to come across.
