Yesterday, after a flurry of road building and safety inductions, we commenced discharging cargo at 4:30pm (UTC+7) and managed to offload a few containers and the two workboats which have been blocking the view from the Voyage Leaders cabin. We then retired for the evening hoping for a full day of operations today.
Unfortunately the wind is up around 30 knots this morning which is making things unpleasant for the crews working cargo out there but we are finding ways to keep things moving. The forecast has things easing this afternoon and we are making preparations for pumping fuel. The fuel hose is being deployed right now.
An Emperor penguin was seen wandering through the cargo handling area this morning without a safety vest and hard hat. Evidently he missed the briefing.
