This morning at breakfast, we were trundling along below 58 degrees latitude with a tail wind of 20 knots pushing us along nicely. Sea conditions have been pretty good but it is snowing this morning and the Weather Shamans have been predicting bigger seas tonight as we pass through a low pressure system.
An ice berg was spotted on radar overnight but this doesn't count as the first ice berg of the voyage which must be seen by the officer of the watch, be as big as the Aurora Australis and meet numerous other criteria which may vary from voyage to voyage.
The wind has swung around now and the satellite image shows a big swirly thing up ahead. We are going in.
