Comments

Another successful deep (3000M) CTD trial today. CTD dips will be an important component on V3, it is envisaged that up to 40 dips to depths up to 4000M will be completed throughout the marine science component.

Another trial of the midwater trawl down to 1000M also occurred today, it is very important to test the winches and other associated equipment to ensure that everything is functioning correctly for V3.

Tomorrow we are planning on some shallow CTD dips to give all more opportunity to familiarize themselves with this system, and a test of the bongo net which is a small plankton net pulled vertically through the water column.

REGARDS: Phil and Rick.
