This morning, we have moved out into open water about 70 miles to the north of Mawson while the crew do some maintenance work to prepare for the trip home.
In fact, we are back out in the krill box which was our survey area just before we came into Mawson. At 7:00am this morning, there were whales spouting so there must be plenty of krill. Please, don’t tell Voyage Senior Scientist, Andrew (currently at Mawson) about this. He’ll only want us to start trawling again.
We will return to Mawson tomorrow.
