Comments

Saturday finds us close into Mawson station.

We spent the night staying about 50 miles out to minimise the risk of any possible fuel leaks to the inshore islands. So far there have been no leaks and today we have come back in close to conduct close up inspection of the hull.

Inside the ship, we have people climbing through the various tanks looking for any signs of damage. (And once again, I am really glad that I majored in electronic engineering rather than marine.) Outside we are about to deploy a high resolution underwater camera to see how things look under the ship. The jet barge is coming out from the station to act as a camera platform and generally give us a hand.

It is a beautiful sunny day and things are going as well as they can be. We will continue to focus on checking the ship for damage.
