Comments

A planning meeting was held yesterday to plan the planning meetings we will need to plan the resupply!

About 15 planning and briefing meetings were identified ranging from environmental briefings to a planning meeting to load and unload the 30 tonne excavator onto the 13 tonne barge.

The old saying that 'the devil is in the detail' very much applies to the complex task of Antarctic station resupplies, and being well prepared can make a big difference on the day. The meetings will start on Monday, giving the expeditioners the weekend to fully recover from the hectic departure, and because the crew have safety rounds and drills on Saturday and Sunday.

Although the seas continued to grow overnight, most expeditioners are now up and about, the seas are expected to peak and then begin to subside this afternoon.

Cheers,

Andy and Vic
