Early start for all on board this morning. Up by 0430 to prepare for our arrival at Macquarie Island. The anchor was dropped at 0500 and the helicopter unlashed and rolled onto the helideck to blade up. Macquarie Island expeditioners waited patiently in the lounge awaiting their call for their flight. Once operations commenced it moved very quickly, smoothly and efficiently. Five flights transferred 11 expeditioners to Macquarie Island and their bags, 1 expeditioner and a cage pallet returned to the ship. By 0645 operations had ceased and we were preparing to head back to Hobart.

Thank you to all at Macquarie Island and on the Aurora Australis for a safe and efficient operation.

Cheers Leanne and Mick
