Our track south continued smoothly until a short while ago. The seas and winds have started to pick up. There are now white caps on the waves.
This afternoon we had an excellent rollup for a presentation on sea ice observations. A roster of volunteers will log bridge based observations in a data base to assist in the provision of real time data to support marine, station, remote and traverse operations and to update the climate record.
The ship’s cinema has taken on an eerie feel as some industrious expeditioners have turned our usually neat and tidy cinema into a spooky Halloween scene. The nearby corridors have not escaped the colourful reminder of the day. This is in preparation for tonight’s movie marathon fit for the occasion.
