Comments

We must be on the way home - air and sea temperatures are into the positives and we have crossed the dateline back in the eastern hemisphere!

The weather remains poor so it's slow going on our transit north. The sea is throwing the ship around which makes everything more challenging. At mealtimes the scientists and crew sway and weave their way to the tables with the rocking of the ship.

All the blue whale calls remain hundreds of kilometres behind us at the same hotspot. Hopefully soon we will hear the more temperate subspecies of blue whales that occur around New Zealand.

Otherwise those not suffering from seasickness are all busy writing reports and preparing for demobilisation.
