Comments
Fog and snow made the sighting conditions very poor all day. Consequently not a single whale was seen but the blue whales continue to call to our north-east, north-west and south-east.
Three trawls were completed today but again the rough ground meant many hours were spent on net repairs.
Tomorrow will be the last day of trawling and then we will head towards Terra Nova Bay. A thick band of ice sits in front of the bay so we are hoping for some southerly winds to push the ice north. One the mooring has been deployed at Terra Nova we will resume blue whale research.
