Comments

Today three more trawls were completed successfully although the large, loose rocks on the sea floor are giving the nets are hard time. A large toothfish was brought up in one trawl which was tagged and then released. These tags are used to assess the size and status of the toothfish population in this region.

Only a few humpback and minke whale sightings today but we also saw a lone emperor penguin on a small iceberg – a first for many onboard.
