Comments

Yesterday afternoon the weather and light held out for us as we finished the fuel pumping and packed up before departing Buckles Bay. Overnight we were again treated to an amazing display of the Southern Lights, with a few hardy souls braving the elements with cameras and tripods to catch the amazing spectacle above us. We were lucky enough to see this Aurora stetching from horizon to horizon above us, shimmering as it moved across the sky.

We awoke this morning as the sun rose to reflect off the snow covered peaks of the island. However, today Macquarie Island has turned the tables on us, delivering on the higher winds and swell that had been promised by our forecaster. Conditions today are such that we did not commence operations and have spent the day steaming up and down the coast in the lee of Macquarie Island enjoying the view in between snow showers.

REGARDS: Nicki and Mike
