Rolling gently to moderately in rough seas/swell, maintaining good speed.

Report writing and debrief meetings are still underway.

And for Mary and all the other mums who prefer a little less brevity and a little more detail, there are six different reports in various stages of progress, being written or reviewed by the Voyage Management Team:

Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR report) Mawson Resupply cargo Report Davis Resupply Cargo Report Mawson Fuel Transfer Report Davis Fuel Transfer Report Voyage 3 Marine Science Report Voyage 3 Voyage Report

In addition we are writing Voyage Support Performance Reports for 15 personnel, each report having 5 different sections of reporting to consider. We will also give each person the opportunity to meet and discuss any issues they had and to thank them for their wonderful contribution to the voyage support team.

Other tasks to squeeze into the last few days of the voyage for the AAD and P&O team include meetings to discuss the 36 hour operation at Davis when we took on extra fuel for the voyage home, the port plan for our arrival which covers the disembarkation of live krill (always tricky keeping the little critters alive at this final step), the marine science cargo on the trawl deck (we also have to juggle the spooling of a kilometre of new wire onto a winch), the discharge of the passengers and their bags, the -80C, -18C and +4C science samples (all of which need relevant permits, permissions, transport and storage arranged) and the unloading of all the cargo, etc...

And finally, the last clock change will occur tonight bringing us to
UTC+11 AEST.

The clock changes are particularly gruelling coming home as we loose an hour each time rather than gaining an hour, another hour less for report writing and debrief meetings!

Cheers,

Andy and Simon
