Comments

We departed Davis at 1700 yesterday having transferred our friend to the ship and taken 155,000 litres of Special Antarctic Blend diesel, which we can blend with the ships fuel to extend our endurance on the return to Hobart.

Unfortunately we were unable to run the 1.4km of 3" lay-flat hose back onto the hose reel, which was tied alongside the ship on the barge. The line was therefore split and capped and was retrieved by the Davis winterers as we sailed off into the distance. We can pick it up again next year.

We are now making our way through relatively heavy pack ice towards open water and the run home.
