Comments

The winds did not abate in time for us to finish barge operations.

We sling loaded essential RTA cargo to the vessel with a helicopter and waited until 1400 before bringing the last passengers and cargo to the ship.

The two helicopters from Davis joined the two already onboard in what is now a very cosy hanger.

The crew lifted the barge onboard and carefully lashed all of the cargo so nothing can move when we reach open water some time tomorrow.

The Master ran an emergency muster drill to familiarise the newcomers and we are now steaming through heavy sea ice to the west of Davis before reaching open water and turning right for Tasmania.

Cheers,

Andy and Simon
