Comments

It is now 40 days since we left Hobart for Antarctica.

Whilst yesterdays demersal trawl was a success it has left the net in fairly poor condition. The RMT's in the Darnley box did not show the proliferation of krill that we have been seeing further west.

We are now surveying and RMT'ing the eastern Prydz box.

All the wet, fresh pancake ice has frozen into larger floes overnight, due to calm conditions and little to no wind. We are finally encountering multi year ice at the northern extent of the survey lines.

Cheers,

Andy and Simon
