We lost an hour overnight with the clock change and are now on UTC+7, the same time zone as Davis station.
We completed 4 RMT's in the Darnley box catching krill and small fish.
We also retrieved thin plates of ice on one trawl which are likely to have formed between different salinity and temperature layers in the water column.
Shortly before lunch we sailed a few miles from the Akademik Fedorov a Russian vessel on its way to Progress station in the Larsemann Hills not far from Davis station.
Given there are only 3 or 4 ships within a thousand miles it's quite an exciting event to see another ship.
Cheers,
Andy and Simon
