Comments

The second JARE mooring recovery has not gone so well. We were unsuccessful in recovering the mooring. The sea bed seems to be quite rocky given we have straightened a number of chain links in the grapple chain that was lowered to the sea floor before sailing around the mooring site in the hope of lassoing the mooring line.

We are now attempting to lasso the third mooring.

We will leave the moorings later today to be at the entrance to Ice Berg Alley tomorrow, ready to enter Horseshoe Harbour the Mawson station anchorage around midday tomorrow, weather permitting.

Cheers,

Andy and Simon
