The weather remains calm, we are travelling comfortably and at good speed.
Another busy day onboard. The Crisis Management Team met to discuss capabilities and resources, the ships crew and the AAD watercraft team met and went through the steps involved in mooring a 95m long ice breaker in Horseshoe Harbour, a complex operation involving 3 shore based parties and as many as five smaller watercraft to transfer the mooring lines ashore.
Preparations are under way to retrieve the first of two acoustic whale moorings that sit on the ocean floor. With the actual retrieval planned for tomorrow afternoon.
The last CPR spool changeover has been done and we will retrieve the CPR for the last time when we arrive at the whale mooring tomorrow.
Cheers,
Andy and Simon
