Comments

We continue marine science in the polynya close to the Mertz Glacier.
Yesterday afternoon we successfully retrieved the French mooring which had been deployed 3 years ago. It was another great job with the ship clearing the ice and the science team and P&O crew bringing it on board. Well done to everybody.
Since then we have been conducting CTD’s in the polynya with 9 being completed in the last 24 hours. We are at present moving along a line running North West from the glacier tongue with CTD’s being deployed every 6nm or so. An extensive sampling program of the polynya with the CTD will be conducted over the next 6 days.
We are closely monitoring the krill specimens on board destined for the AAD Krill laboratory.

Cheers
Tony & Lloyd
