Comments

We continue our transit to the front of the Totten Glacier and conducted 3 CTD operations in the last 24 hours en route. Yesterday afternoon we deployed the glider in a small polynya. The glider will now be on an 8 day mission under the ice with the intent to retrieve it in the Dalton Polynya after its work is done.

Our transit to the Totten Glacier has proved slow due to the heavy ice conditions, opportunities for CTD’s will continue to be sought on our way there.

All on board are well and anticipating a very quiet New Year’s Eve.

Happy New Year from us all on the Aurora Australis.

Cheers

Tony & Lloyd
