Comments

Yesterday afternoon after the winds abated we continued with cargo operations until 1600. At 2000 we decided to deploy the refuelling hose as conditions indicated that low winds were forecast for at least the following 24 hours. We commenced pumping fuel at 0230 this morning and as at 1200 today we had pumped 250,000 litres of fuel to the storage tanks on the station. This morning we recommenced cargo operations at 0800 and we are presently delivering cargo whilst pumping fuel. Today we commenced the clearing of the No2 lower hold which is the last hold for cargo inbound. We will commence backfilling after that.
These operations are a team effort involving station personal, resupply personnel on the ship and the P&O crew on the Aurora Australis. It is a privilege to see professionals like these going about their work in a (sometimes not so) quiet and efficient way.

Cheers Tony & Lloyd
