We arrived at Casey at 2318 last night

This morning resupply of Casey Station commenced at 0400. The Jet barge was deployed and cargo operations started. We have 500 tonnes of cargo to deliver and 930,000 litres of fuel. The weather has been kind for our commencement with light winds and sunshine. Our watercraft operators were keen to get on the water after the 7 day voyage. All cargo has to be delivered overwater on our jet barge which has the capacity to deliver a hefty load of 30 tonnes from the ship to the shore.

Last night Chris from Geoscience Australia gave us a presentation titled “hot rocks in a cool place”. Again appreciated by all who were there.

For the next 8 days or so we will be operating on a 16 hour/day basis to deliver all the cargo and backload cargo being returned to Australia. then onto marine science. Let’s hope for fair weather.

Cheers Tony & Lloyd
