Voyage 2, the Casey resupply and marine science voyage departed Hobart at 2100hrs local time on 05 December 2014

On board are 41 expeditioners comprising resupply operational personnel, marine scientists and voyage support personnel. The objective of the voyage is the annual resupply of Casey station with fuel and essential supplies and cargo, and the completion of an extensive marine science program. After completion of the Casey resupply the marine science program will be conducted in the Totten and Mertz glacier vicinity.

After embarkation yesterday various safety inductions and drills were conducted before the vessel departed. We made good progress overnight. All on board are well and in good spirits after a good first night on a reasonably calm sea.

Cheers

Tony and Lloyd
